I forced John to stay up late Thanksgiving night to put up our tree. I told him that we were going to decorate it completely so when Kristen came over the next day to decorate the rest of the house we could help her. Unfortunately, 20 minutes before she got here Friday morning, this is what our decorated tree looked like.
I won't go into details about exactly how this happened....but it involved John loosening some of the screws in the stand and me fiddling with the ornaments while it was loosened...... And, if you have ever heard the sound of a Christmas tree falling, you won't soon forget it. A slow motion mixture of glass breaking, water gushing onto the floor, branches breaking...you get the idea. Kristen made us start COMPLETELY over. She said there was no saving it.
This is Julia when she got to see her birthday tree for the first time. She loved it and still everyday the first thing she does when she wakes up is points to it and says, "BALL!" She is referring to the balloons, of course.
Wow! How great is that??? Kristen missed her calling. She could have been doing window designs at Macy's in NYC!
The tree survived the crash!
We got a package in the mail last week from Julia Great Aunt Amy and Great Uncle Jim in California. We had a good time opening it and we LOVED the book!
