Julia and I made a turkey at the library this year. She drug it around proudly for a while after she made it, at least until one of his chain legs came off. I love it that our little library has improved its kids section. They now have craft kits that complement a theme (it was turkeys in November) that changes monthly.
"Cracking a nut!" Now every time she hears a sound in the house like the roof popping, she says, "It sounds like somebodies cracking a nut!"
I cooked my first turkey and dressing this year! It turned out pretty good.....with one exception. John got a good laugh when the turkey cooked all night and half of Thanksgiving Day and when it was done, he pulled out the plastic sack of giblets that had cooked along with it. Why didn't they directions say there was not one, but TWO sacks stuck in its belly?

Julia enjoying her second turkey dinner. I think she liked the raw vegetables that we used for appetizers the best. Oh yeah, and the pumpkin pie!
Julia and PawPaw relaxing with a book after turkey.
